It is alive. It’s coming. And it won’t stop until it reaches the center of Los Angeles, wreaking havoc and taking lives. This isn’t a movie though, but a video game created by indie developers from New Zealand called Starship Troopers: Invasion LA. In this article we will look at why the creators chose to use Los Angeles as a setting for their game, what you can expect from playing with, and few other bits of information that might interest you if you're thinking about getting the game or not. The premise of the game is that aliens have invaded Los Angeles and it’s up to you to save the city. You play as a character who is working for the government in order to establish communication with these aliens in their new found city. It's not all about saving the day though, you also get to play through multiple missions where you will have to fight against huge hordes of enemies, who are part of an alien species known as 'Sprawlers'. There are also a number of weapons that you can use during your mission. These include a high-powered pistol, a sniper rifle, an under-barrel shotgun and even a machine gun. If you get tired of using your old weapons then there is always the option to buy better ones in the in-game store with credits that you earn during missions. You control what happens by moving over certain areas in order to activate them and then choosing what to do from a list which will appear on the bottom of the screen. You can communicate with certain characters via radio system which allows you to know more about their motives and how they see this whole situation with the aliens. The gameplay is like a cross between the classic Resident Evil and the off-beat comedy - Hot Shots: Part Deux. Starship Troopers: Invasion LA has an interesting plot and it will keep you wanting to play to find out what happens next. The way it is presented also gives it a comedic edge which can be both funny and annoying at times. It's a video game made for people who aren't afraid of spending money on in-game purchases, yet still have fun while doing that.
